The following information describes our privacy policy.  By visiting our Web site you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.


What information do we gather?

The information we learn from clients and visitors helps us better understand your needs and assists us in improving your experience as a partner with EB Jacobs.  Here is what we collect:

  • Information You Provide:  We receive and may store any information you enter on our Web site or provide to us in any other form.  You can choose not to provide the requested information, but it is possible that certain areas of our Web site may not be accessible without providing the information.  We use the information that you provide only for such purposes as responding to your requests, customizing future offerings, improving our products and services, and communicating with you.

We receive information from you when you search, buy, bid, post, participate in a survey or questionnaire, or communicate with us.  For example, you provide information when you search for a product; make an order; or communicate with us by phone or e-mail.  As a result of those actions you might supply us with information including your name, address, and phone number; credit card information; people to whom purchases have been shipped, including address and phone number.

  • Automatic Information:  We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us.  For example, like many Web sites, we may use "cookies" to store your login information.  A number of companies offer utilities designed to help you visit Web sites anonymously.  Although we will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience if we cannot recognize you, we want you to be aware that these tools exist if this is of concern to you.

Examples of the information we collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; purchase history; the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our Web site, including date and time; cookie number; products/services you viewed or searched for.

What are cookies and how are they used on our Web site?

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such as login information, and storage of information that you provide to us when you visit our Web site.  This information is used during subsequent visits to our Web site in order to provide you with the information most relevant to your needs and to facilitate your interaction with our Web site.  Cookies can be disabled on your Web browser but some areas of our Web site may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.  To obtain information on disabling or modifying your Web browser’s handling of cookies, you should consult the "help" portion of the toolbar on most Web browsers.

Do you share the information received from visitors?

Information about our customers is an important part of our partnership with you.  We do not share Web site visitor or customer information with anyone outside of EB Jacobs without directly asking for your permission first.

How secure is the information I provide?

  • Whenever we request sensitive information, such as credit card information, we transmit the information you provide to us using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.  SSL encrypts the information before it is sent over the Internet and our servers decode the information upon receiving it.  While it is being sent over the Internet no one can read it even if the information is intercepted.
  • We do not reveal your credit card numbers when confirming an order.  Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

What can I do to further secure the information I provide to you?

You can secure the information that you have provided to EB Jacobs by preventing unauthorized access to your EB Jacobs accounts.  To protect against unauthorized access secure your login and password information be sure to sign off when finished using our Web site.

What choices do I have?

  • As discussed above, you can always choose not to provide any requested information.
  • If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please e-mail us at privacy@ebjacobs.com
  • The "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.
  • The Federal Trade Commission provides useful information about online privacy on its own Web site.
